Terms & Conditions
Contractual and legal terms governing enrollment and participation
Last updated: Sep 04, 2026
These Terms & Conditions govern use of the Ann Wigmore Natural Health website and enrollment in AWNH programs. Practical information about staying on campus appears in the Guest Policies, Program Rates, Program Schedule, Accommodations page, and reservation confirmation.
1. About AWNH
Ann Wigmore Natural Health (“AWNH,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a nonprofit educational wellness retreat located at Carr. PR-413 Km 1.4, Rincón, Puerto Rico 00677. AWNH offers residential programs focused on the Living Foods Lifestyle™, including food preparation, sprouting, growing practices, movement, relaxation, mindfulness, and related educational activities.
2. Agreement and incorporated policies
By using the website, submitting an enrollment request, making a payment, or participating in a program, you agree to these Terms, Guest Policies, applicable cancellation policy, your written reservation confirmation, and any participation agreements presented during enrollment. These documents are incorporated into the agreement between the guest and AWNH. If operational information conflicts with these Terms, these Terms control unless AWNH confirms otherwise in writing.
3. Educational purpose; no medical care
AWNH programs and website materials are presented for educational and informational purposes only. They are not medical advice and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease, ailment, or health condition. AWNH is not a medical facility and does not provide physicians, nurses, medical diagnosis, prescriptions, medication management, nursing care, or emergency medical treatment.
Participation is voluntary. Individual experiences and results vary. You should consult a licensed healthcare professional before making significant dietary, exercise, medication, or lifestyle changes before participating, especially if you have a medical condition, disability, allergy, dietary restriction, pregnancy, history of disordered eating, or other concerns that may affect safe participation. Never delay or discontinue professional medical care because of information provided by AWNH.
4. Enrollment and guest representations
Submission of an enrollment form does not guarantee acceptance or a particular room. A reservation is confirmed only after AWNH accepts the enrollment request, receives the required deposit, and issues written confirmation.
Guests must provide accurate and complete enrollment information, including relevant health conditions, allergies, dietary restrictions, medications, accessibility needs, and emergency contact information. AWNH may request additional information reasonably necessary to evaluate whether the program can be provided safely and appropriately.
A parent or legal guardian enrolling a minor represents that the adult has authority to consent to the minor’s participation, will complete all required forms, and accepts responsibility for the minor as described in Guest Policies.
5. Program and accommodation charges
Program fees and accommodation fees are separate unless expressly stated otherwise. Accommodation rates are subject to a 7% room tax. Optional services, products, transportation not expressly included, and incidental purchases are charged separately.
A deposit equal to 50% of the confirmed program and accommodation charges is required to secure a reservation. The remaining 50% will be charged to the card on file through the online payment system 48 hours before arrival, unless AWNH confirms different written arrangements.
AWNH accepts cash, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, payments through its online payment portal, and personal checks drawn on U.S.-based banks. Prices and inclusions are those stated in the guest’s written confirmation.
6. Cancellations, refunds, transfers, and credits
Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to Reservations. The date AWNH receives the written request determines the applicable refund or credit.
-
If you cancel your reservation at least 45 days prior to the start of a program, you will receive a full cash or credit card refund, however your deposit was paid, minus a $100 cancellation fee.
-
If you cancel within 30–44 days prior to your scheduled arrival, you will receive 75% of your deposit as credit toward a future stay, minus a $200 transfer fee.
-
If you cancel within 15–29 days prior to your scheduled arrival, you will receive 50% of your deposit as credit toward a future stay, minus a $200 transfer fee.
-
If you cancel within 7–14 days of your scheduled arrival, you will receive 25% of your deposit as credit toward a future stay, minus a $200 transfer fee.
-
If you cancel within 0–6 days of your scheduled arrival, you will receive no refund or credit.
You must reschedule your stay within one year of cancellation, or all credit toward a future stay will be forfeited.
Except as expressly stated in the Health and Communicable Illness policy, these cancellation terms will be applied consistently.
7. Illness, delayed arrival, and early departure
A guest who develops an active communicable illness or symptoms that could place others at risk must notify AWNH promptly. Requests to postpone or reschedule a stay because of illness will be considered individually. Any applicable fee or future credit will be determined on a case-by-case basis after considering the timing, circumstances, and other relevant factors. AWNH will approach each situation with consideration and care, but cannot guarantee a particular refund, credit, or waiver.
Guests are responsible for missed program days or accommodation nights caused by flight interruption, weather, personal circumstances, late arrival, or early departure. Early-departure requests will be considered individually. Any eligibility for a future credit, the amount of the credit, any applicable fee, and the credit expiration date will be determined on a case-by-case basis after considering the circumstances and other relevant factors. AWNH will approach each situation with consideration and care, but cannot guarantee a refund, credit, fee waiver, or other adjustment. AWNH strongly recommends travel insurance covering trip cancellation, weather delay, medical needs, and interruption.
8. AWNH cancellation, schedule changes, and events beyond control
AWNH may make reasonable changes to instructors, schedules, activities, services, or room assignments. If AWNH cancels an entire program before it begins, amounts paid will be issued as a future credit, except to the extent a different remedy is required by applicable law.
AWNH is not responsible for delay, interruption, or inability to perform caused by hurricanes, severe weather, natural disasters, utility or transportation interruptions, government orders, public-health events, labor disruption, or other circumstances beyond its reasonable control. Depending on the circumstances, AWNH may reschedule affected services or issue a future credit, subject to applicable law.
9. Compliance with Guest Policies; termination of participation
Guests must comply with the incorporated Guest Policies, safety instructions, participation agreements, and reasonable staff directions. AWNH may deny or end participation for nonpayment, material misrepresentation, unlawful conduct, threats to safety, harassment, property damage, serious disruption, or repeated violation of applicable policies. Unless otherwise required by law, any refund or future credit following removal will be determined according to the circumstances and the applicable cancellation terms.
10. Assumption of risk and emergencies
Participation may involve ordinary risks associated with dietary change, exercise, movement, pools, beach and ocean access, outdoor conditions, travel, and optional activities. Guests must complete any informed-consent, assumption-of-risk, emergency-authorization, and minor-consent forms required for participation.
In an emergency, AWNH may contact 911, the guest’s emergency contact, or other appropriate emergency services. The guest is responsible for resulting emergency transportation, medical evaluation, treatment, medication, and related costs unless applicable law requires otherwise.
11. Personal property and property damage
Guests should safeguard their personal belongings. To the extent permitted by law, AWNH is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage to a guest’s belongings or vehicle. A guest may be charged for the reasonable cost of repairing or replacing property damaged beyond ordinary wear by the guest, a minor under the guest’s supervision, or the guest’s service dog.
12. Website use and intellectual property
Website content, program materials, photographs, graphics, logos, trademarks, and other materials are owned by or licensed to AWNH and may not be reproduced, distributed, sold, or used commercially without prior written permission. Guests may use educational materials for personal, noncommercial purposes unless otherwise stated.
Users may not attempt unauthorized access, interfere with website operation, transmit harmful or unlawful material, or use the website in violation of applicable law. Links to third-party websites are provided for convenience; AWNH does not control or endorse their content, services, or privacy practices.
13. Privacy
Personal information is handled as described in the AWNH Privacy Policy. Enrollment may require health-related, dietary, accessibility, emergency-contact, and payment information reasonably necessary to evaluate and administer participation.
14. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, AWNH disclaims warranties not expressly stated in writing and is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, or consequential damages arising from website use or program participation. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
15. Governing law, severability, changes, and contact
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
AWNH may update these Terms prospectively. The date of the latest revision will appear at the top of this page. Material changes affecting a confirmed reservation will be communicated when required. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to the extent permitted by law.
