Practical information for staying on campus
Ann Wigmore Natural Health (AWNH) is a peaceful, educational retreat community. This page explains what guests should know before arriving and while staying on campus. Contractual matters, including payments, cancellations, credits, liability, and AWNH’s right to end participation, appear in the Terms & Conditions section. Questions or accommodation requests may be directed to Reservations at info@annwigmore.org or 787-868-6307.
Preparing for your stay
Our residential programs involve a structured daily schedule, communal meals, classes, movement, and campus activities. Guests must be able to manage their own daily personal care, medications, mobility, and participation needs independently, or arrange to attend with a qualified companion. AWNH does not provide nursing care, personal-care assistance, medication management, or medical supervision.
Please contact Reservations before enrolling to discuss any special accommodation, accessible-room, or companion needs. Requests will be reviewed individually, and Reservations will explain what can be provided before your reservation is confirmed.
Health and communicable illness
AWNH is an educational wellness retreat, not a medical facility. We do not diagnose, treat, cure, or prescribe for medical conditions, and there are no physicians or nurses on staff. Guests should consult a licensed healthcare professional before making significant dietary, exercise, or lifestyle changes and should disclose any medical conditions, allergies, dietary restrictions, medications, and accessibility needs during enrollment.
If you develop an active communicable illness or symptoms that could place other guests or staff at risk before arrival, please notify Reservations promptly.
Requests to postpone or reschedule a stay because of illness will be considered individually. Any applicable fee or future credit will be determined on a case-by-case basis after considering timing, circumstances, and other relevant factors. AWNH will approach each situation with consideration and care, but cannot guarantee a particular refund, credit, or waiver.
We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance to help protect against illness, flight interruption, severe weather, and other unforeseen events that could disrupt or prevent your visit.
A substance-free, fragrance-conscious campus
Smoking, vaping, alcohol, recreational drugs, and the unlawful use or possession of controlled substances are prohibited on campus. Burning incense is not permitted. To support guests with sensitivities, please do not use scented perfume, aftershave, lotion, or other fragranced products while on campus.
Shared accommodations and quiet enjoyment
Dormitories are shared spaces. Guests who know that they snore loudly or regularly use an audible white-noise device are asked to reserve a private room so that other guests can rest.
Guests who use a CPAP machine or other disability-related equipment should contact Reservations before booking so that an appropriate accommodation can be identified. AWNH will not require a guest to forgo medically necessary equipment.
AWNH makes every effort to honor confirmed accommodation selections but may change a room assignment when reasonably necessary because of maintenance, accessibility, safety, occupancy, an extended stay, or another operational need. If a material change is required, Reservations will communicate with the guest as soon as reasonably possible.
Children and Minor Guests
Minor guests may attend only with a parent or legal guardian who has completed a qualifying AWNH program and received an AWNH diploma. This requirement helps ensure that the accompanying adult understands the Living Foods Lifestyle™, the daily schedule, the meals, and the responsibilities involved in bringing a child to the retreat.
Guests ages 12–17 are welcome during any program date. They receive a 50% discount on program fees. The discount applies to program fees only; accommodations are charged at standard rates.
Children under age 12 may not attend AWNH programs or stay on campus with a guest.
Every guest under 18 must attend with a parent or legal guardian. The parent or guardian is responsible for the child’s care, conduct, safety, and continuous supervision throughout the stay. Children may not be left under the supervision of AWNH staff or other guests.
The campus includes three swimming pools and convenient access to the beach and ocean. AWNH does not provide supervision for children or adults in these areas. Children may use the pools or enter the beach or ocean areas only when accompanied and actively supervised by their parent or legal guardian. Parents and guardians are responsible for assessing their child’s swimming ability and ensuring compliance with posted rules and staff safety instructions.
Children must behave in a way that protects the safety, comfort, and restorative experience of other guests. Parents and guardians must intervene promptly if a child is unsafe, disruptive, destructive, or disrespectful. AWNH may restrict a child’s access to a particular area or require the family to leave if the child presents a safety concern or seriously or repeatedly disrupts other guests . Serious safety concerns may require immediate removal.
Parents should review the Living Foods menu before enrolling to determine whether it is appropriate for their child. Allergies and dietary concerns must be disclosed during enrollment, but AWNH cannot guarantee special meals or substitutions.
Guests ages 18 and older pay standard adult rate program fees.
Pets, service animals, and emotional-support animals
Pets are not permitted on the AWNH campus.
Trained service dogs assisting a person with a disability are permitted consistent with applicable law. Please contact Reservations before enrolling so that an appropriate room assignment and other practical arrangements can be discussed. Service dogs must remain under the handler’s control, and the handler is responsible for the dog’s care and waste disposal. Complete service-animal terms appear in Terms & Conditions.
Emotional-support animals, comfort animals, and therapy animals that are not trained service dogs are not permitted on campus.
Parking and transportation
Complimentary airport transportation is available from Mayagüez and Aguadilla airports when arranged with AWNH in advance. Guests must provide complete flight information at least two weeks before arrival and notify Reservations promptly of any schedule change. Guests arriving through San Juan are responsible for arranging and paying for transportation; Reservations may provide contact information for transportation providers.
On-site parking is limited and reserved for confirmed overnight guests. Guests who plan to drive must request a space in advance, and should not bring a vehicle unless Reservations has confirmed availability. Confirmed guest parking is complimentary.
Puerto Rico resident discount
Bona fide, long-term residents of Puerto Rico may be eligible for a 20% discount on program fees at any time of year. The discount applies to program fees only and does not apply to accommodation charges. Please inform Reservations when booking if you would like to request the discount. Eligibility is assessed individually, and documentation demonstrating established Puerto Rico residency may be requested before the discount is confirmed.
Guest conduct and community standards
Guests are expected to treat classmates, staff, neighbors, and community members with kindness, patience, respect, and compassion. Conduct that threatens safety, violates the law, seriously disrupts classes or quiet enjoyment, harasses another person, damages property, or repeatedly disregards staff directions is not permitted.
Selling, promoting, or soliciting products or services on campus is not permitted.
On-campus living
All program guests must stay in AWNH accommodations. Off-campus tuition, commuter participation, and program-only enrollment are not available.
A guest may stay for a maximum of three consecutive weeks per visit. The stay may include any three available consecutive program weeks. Guests may return later in the same season under a separate reservation, but they may not extend a single visit beyond three consecutive weeks by making multiple back-to-back reservations.
Guest rooms do not include refrigerators, stoves, kitchens, or other cooking facilities.
Meals for takeaway from the campus kitchen by on-campus students may be available when operationally possible and must be requested in advance. Availability cannot be guaranteed.
Laundry service is available for a fee. Wi-Fi is available throughout the campus.
Please keep personal belongings secure and notify staff promptly of any room or property damage. Quiet hours, visitor access, pool and beach rules, and other on-campus safety instructions communicated by staff must be observed. Responsibility for loss or damage is addressed in Terms & Conditions.
